Foot and Ankle

Stepping Up To The Plate

Every April special attention is given to foot health as we observe National Foot Health Awareness Month.

Nearly eight out of ten Americans say they have experienced some sort of foot pain and half of them admit that foot pain has restricted their activities in some way, according to data from the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Those statistics hit a little too close to home for Teresa Wickers, whose worsening heel pain finally stopped her in her tracks. She sought help from Tri-County Foot & Ankle where Dr. Daniel Wassell recommended surgery to relieve the pain from plantar fasciitis.

Finding Balance

Diabetes is one of the leading causes of amputations in older adults. People with advanced diabetes may develop wounds or sores that do not heal and can eventually result in loss of a portion of the foot. This was the case with Lake County resident, Thomas Grieve.

He explained to us, he credits the team of doctors at Tri-County Foot & Ankle for helping to stop the spread of infection due to his diabetic pressure ulcers.

Also, whether you love running or just love supporting your community, we caught up with representatives of Tri County Foot and Ankle, sponsors of the 2020 Love Run 5k.
