Understanding Ulcers

For the last hundred years doctors thought that stress, spicy foods, and alcohol caused most stomach ulcers. Today, we know that peptic ulcers, which form in the upper part of the small intestine, are actually caused by a bacteria discovered as recently as the 1980s.
