Diabetic Heart Disease

Right now, over 30 million people in the United States have diabetes and 1 in 4 people don’t even know they have it. Diabetes occurs when a person’s blood glucose level becomes too high.

Dr. Nitza Alvarez, cardiologist at Tri-County Heart Institute, explains how cardiologists treat their patients with diabetes.

Also, join Dr. Alvarez every second Saturday of the month for Walk With a Doc. Participants will enjoy a brief presentation on an important health topic followed by a “walk-at-your-own-pace” lead by Dr. Alvarez.
