The Heart Of A Women

Every minute in the United States, someone’s wife, mother, daughter or sister dies from some form of heart disease. And although heart disease death rates among men have declined steadily over the last 25 years, rates among women have fallen significantly less.

Why? A difference in symptoms between men and women may have something to do with it.

Dr. Nitza Alvarez, cardiologist at Tri-County Heart Institute  is devoted to educating women about their heart health. She explains why it is so important for women to be their own advocates.

Also, join Dr. Alvarez every second Saturday of the month for Walk With a Doc. Participants will enjoy a brief presentation on an important health topic followed by a “walk-at-your-own-pace” lead by Dr. Alvarez.
