Men’s Heart Health

Last year, as part of their national “MENtion It” campaign, the Cleveland Clinic surveyed more than 500 men ages 18 to 70 across the United States and found that only three in five men get an annual physical, and just over 40 percent go to the doctor only when they fear they have a serious medical condition.

Dr Nitza Alvarez of Tri County Heart Institute in the Sharon Morse Building in The Villages AND one of her patients tells Hometown Health what every man needs to know about preventing heart problems.

Walk With A Doc

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. That’s approximately one woman every minute, according to the American Heart Association.

Appropriately, we kick off the May, 2017 Women’s Health episode of Hometown Health by introducing you to the newest specialist in our network.

Dr Nitza Alvarez leads the team of Tri County Heart Institute in the Sharon Morse Building in The Villages. And, she leads by example… you can join her for Walk With A Doc on the second Saturday of every month.
