A-Fib Experience

Atrial fibrillation otherwise known as A-Fib is a medical disorder that affects the upper chambers, of the heart.

People with A-Fib experience irregular heartbeats caused by abnormal electrical signals in which different areas of your heart beat too quickly, too slowly, or in an uneven rhythm.

Although many A-Fib triggers are common, each person’s experience is unique.

Being aware of your condition and the situations that can provoke an episode play a large role in helping you control A-Fib.

We spoke with one patient at the Tri-County Heart Institute who shared her personal experience with A-fib.

We have all heard of a heart attack. And we have heard of heart failure. These two cardiovascular diseases affect hundreds of thousands of people in this country every year. But if you were asked to explain the difference between the two diseases, could you?

We sat down with cardiologist, Dr. Nitza Alvarez at the Tri-County Heart Institute to find out the difference between the two cardiovascular killers.
