Here’s something none of us want in our home… bed bugs. These creepy little parasites measure about 5 or 6 millimeters in length and leave their victims with a nasty, itchy rash.

In an effort to understand more about these unwanted houseguests, a team of scientists from England, Germany and Norway spent 15 years traveling the globe collecting and comparing the DNA of dozens of bedbug species. Their findings surprised the scientific community.
